Getting the papers sent out

On Monday, Feb 19th at I think around 3pm I went to my 2 doctor offices that are required to send my medical records. My current office let me fill out the paper work and said they have a company do that stuff for them, and it would be taken care of thursday.

The previous office (that of my University) does not fax, so I left a message for Rick to give me his mailing address.

Today (Wed the 21) he called me back and gave it to me.

I started this blog to record the events from that point forward in case things got nasty, but Rick has been very responsive and helpful, it seems almost pointless to keep blogging it.

A Call from Mr. Gonzalez

I am impressed.

The person doing my medical review called me back this morning around 8:30am. We talked a little about me getting the day off and him having to work, just light chat. I asked him what was needed, and how to get it going since it's taken so long.

He said he needs 5 years of medical history from my current doctor office and my previous one (at CSU). He gave me HIS fax number, so I can avoid the Anthem mail & fax sorting/filing system.

Like I said, I am impressed. Rick was nice and professional. If Anthem is the one holding the process up, it is not his doing.

So, since I have today off, I will be going to my doctors and having them fax stuff over.

Call #1 to Mr. Gonzalez

At approximately 1:15pm today, 2/16/07, I placed the first call to Mr. Gonzalez regarding my "medical review". He was unavailable so I left a brief, polite message on his answering machine asking for a return call.

Return call from Jessica

Jessica, from extension (xxxx), called me back today to inform me that the medical review person wrote her back on the status of my review, stating that they were still waiting for medical records from:

• Associates in Family Medicine
• Hartshorn Health Services

I explained to her the trouble I had gone through to make sure the Associates in Family Medicine records were sent in, and that I really needed to speak with whoever she just emailed.

She was kind enough to give me the name and phone number of Mr. Rick Gonzalez in Denver, CO.

Call to Anthem

I just got off the phone with Anthem and spoke to a helpful representative in the Claims department named Jessica. She told me she would email the people doing my medical review and call me back within a week.

We shall see.
